Storm Damage Cleanup with a Dumpster in Ohio

After a storm, a storm damage dumpster gives limbs, roofing, siding, and other debris one place to go. Cobra Roll-Off rents roll-off dumpsters out of 2154 Bolivar Rd. S.W., Canton, Ohio 44706, to homeowners, landlords, property managers, and contractors across Canton and Northeast Ohio. Cobra delivers the container and hauls it away. Your crew loads it.

Why a Roll-Off Dumpster Works for Storm Debris

A roll-off dumpster is for debris that does not fit into normal trash service. It is different from regular trash collection.

After wind, water, or fire damage, restoration contractors often need several containers with a crew on site. A contractor business may need a container at each project site. Property managers and landlords often need several containers over a short time with a crew on site.

For homeowners, a roll-off can also help keep debris in one place during a larger project involving yard waste, roofing, siding, windows, doors, lumber, flooring, or other materials.

What Can Go in the Dumpster

Items that can go in the container may include:

  • Trees, bushes, flowers, and other yard waste or landscaping debris
  • Roofing, including shingles
  • Siding, windows, doors, framing, paneling, and cabinets
  • Lumber and flooring
  • Brick, block, concrete, and plaster
  • Household trash from garage, basement, and attic clean-outs

Cobra has no rules of its own about what goes in the dumpster. The EPA regulates what Cobra may take to the landfill. Each container has a sticker listing the most common regulated items, including pressurized cylinders, uncured paint, petroleum products, tires, poisons, and infectious items such as medical waste.

If you are not sure about a specific item, call Cobra Roll-Off at 330-484-2113 before loading it.

Picking a Dumpster Size

Cobra has 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and 40 yard roll-off dumpsters.

Every 15 yard box has a white line inside marking 10 yards, and every 25 yard box has a line marking 20 yards. When you order a 10 or a 20, you really have the next size on site in case you need a little more room.

A low-sided 20 yard dumpster is generally used for heavy items. A 25 yard dumpster is the largest dumpster that can be used for shingle projects. The 30 and 40 yard boxes go to homes for large remodels with a lot of demolition material, but they need more height and width clearance for the bigger truck and get heavy on residential asphalt or concrete driveways.

See Cobra’s dumpster sizes page to compare available container sizes.

Placement and Loading

A roll-off container goes on a solid surface. If you can park a vehicle there, Cobra can typically put a container there. Before delivery, Cobra asks for a clear path for the truck.

Truck clearance matters:

  • A single-axle truck is 8 feet wide tire to tire and about 11 feet tall.
  • A tri-axle truck is 8.5 feet wide and about 12 feet tall.
  • Both are about 10 feet wide with mirrors.

On concrete or asphalt driveways, Cobra lays plywood strips under the container’s rollers. Cobra runs its own hook-lift trucks with its own drivers. Cable trucks have less control of the container on and off and are known for damaging driveways and surrounding property.

Some customers want the box placed so they can throw debris off a roof, out a window, or off a porch. The order form asks about that placement. Bright max-fill-line stickers run along the top edges of every container. Every container is tarped before hauling so the load does not blow out. If a container is overloaded, the extra material has to come off before it can be hauled.
